Connecticut’s land trusts play a critical role in protecting our open space and special places in perpetuity. We also have a responsibility to uphold all of our collective easements and manage the land we own. Leslie Ratley-Beach, the Land Trust Alliance’s Conservation Defense Director will be in Connecticut on March 12th to discuss the proposed Conservation Defense Insurance program as one of the safety nets available to Connecticut Land Trusts. To date, 239 land trusts from 43 states have committed to the program, including 7 Connecticut land trusts. View the letter from Connecticut land trust colleagues encouraging your participation in the program.
This meeting is sponsored by the Litchfield Hills Greenprint Collaborative. Please contact Tim Abbott (860) 672-6678 for directions or with other questions. Leslie is also available to discuss this proposed program by phone and email. Please call or write her at 802-262-6051 or lrbeach@lta.org if you can’t join us on March 12th.
