A Call to Action

Last week we sent out a call to action to contact Governor Malloy and ask him to release bond funding for two critical DEEP open space programs (OSWA and RNHT).

Here's an excerpt from CLCC's letter to the Governor:

The OSWA program truly is the backbone of land conservation efforts in Connecticut. Rarely a day goes by without my fielding at least one question from a land trust or town regarding the OSWA program. These inquiries relate to pending or prospective conservation projects in every part of the state.

The land conservation community is anxiously awaiting the announcement of the 2015 grant awards and is assembling their next projects in anticipation of the 2016 grant round.  When OSWA projects close, entire communities celebrate.

To those of you who sent your letters, THANK YOU! Your testimonials describing what these programs have meant for land conservation in your own communities are powerful and compelling.

If you have not had a chance to send a message to Governor Malloy, it's not too late!
Indeed, when it comes to speaking up for open space, the only time it's too late is after it's gone.
Thank you for taking action and for all you continue to do to conserve, protect and forge connections with the landscapes that define our communities, build strong economies and enhance our quality of life.

With warmest regards,

P.S. Please be sure to copy your state legislators and CLCC on your note to the Governor. Thank you!
